Motion offers a variety of stair lift options, including straight stair lifts and outdoor stair lifts, for homes with decks or second-floor entrances. We also offer custom stair lifts for homes with curved stairways, split levels, or intermediate landings. A stair lift may be commonly referred to as a chair lift, stair chair lift, stairway lift, or stair glide and can be installed by our factory trained technicians in as little as a few hours.
Q: Does the stair lift require special electrical accommodations?
A: No.Stair lifts simply plug into your standard electrical outlets, saving you from additional electrical costs.
Q: Will the stair lift require construction or damage the walls of my home?
A: No. The only evidence of your stair lift being installed will be small holes where the stair lift was bolted to your staircase.
Q: Does the stair lift install on the left or right side of my staircase?
A: The stair lift can be installed on either side of your staircase depending on the setup of your home. At the consultation, our stair lift expert will explain the setup that will be most suitable to your layout.
Q: My staircase is curved. Can I still get a stair lift?
A: Absolutely! We have curved stair lifts that can be customized to your stairway.
Q: I’m particular about my style. Will a stair lift clash in my home?
A: Special finish options allow you to match the railing and the seat of your stair lift to the existing style of your home so you don’t have to compromise on the beauty of your home.
Q: Is it better to install a stair lift or an elevator in my home?
A: An elevator is a great solution to assist in getting you up and down stairs however the home modifications involved in purchasing an elevator are extensive and very costly. A stair lift can be purchased for a fraction of the cost of a home elevator however unlike an elevator it will only transfer an individual and cannot be used to transport mobility devices.
Q: Can I rent a stair lift?
A: Yes, straight stair lifts are available to rent. Contact the Motion location closest to you for more information.
Q: Are financing options available?
A: Yes, financing plans are available from 3 to 60 months through Paybright and can be used for all or part of a stair lift purchase.
"Last week life took an unexpected turn for us; we were told my father's health was deteriorating and he would have difficulty standing or walking. It was 11am when I walked into your store and by 1pm you were in my home reassuring us that a stair lift would be installed in 2 days!"
