Supporting a Meaningful Cause at the OFCP Golf Tournament

The Ontario Federation for Cerebral Palsy (OFCP) Golf Tournament is an annual fundraising event that brings together community members, sponsors, volunteers, and supporters for a day dedicated to making a difference. Funds raised through the tournament help support programs, services, and resources for individuals living with Cerebral Palsy and their families across the province.

More than just a day on the golf course, the event creates opportunities to raise awareness, foster connections, and strengthen the community that supports people of all abilities. This year, Motion was a proud sponsor of the golf tournament and our Hamilton team member Asha had the opportunity to volunteer at the event. Read more about Asha’s experience below.

A Day of Giving Back

Recently, I had the opportunity to volunteer at the OFCP Golf Tournament, a fundraising event dedicated to supporting individuals with Cerebral Palsy. The experience was both rewarding and inspiring, and it reinforced the importance of community involvement and giving back.

As a company, Motion is committed to empowering people through mobility, inclusion, and community. Supporting events like the OFCP Golf Tournament aligns closely with these values, making it especially meaningful to be part of the day.

Throughout the event, I had the opportunity to take on a variety of roles. From helping capture photos and videos for the OFCP’s social media channels to assisting with event setup, selling 50/50 raffle tickets, encouraging golfers to participate in the putting challenge, and welcoming attendees as they arrived. Every task played a role in helping the event run smoothly.

While each responsibility was different, they all contributed to a shared goal: raising funds and awareness for individuals living with Cerebral Palsy. It was rewarding to see firsthand how many people came together to support the cause and how much enthusiasm participants brought to the event.

The Power of Community

What stood out most throughout the day was the collective sense of purpose. Every raffle ticket sold, every donation made, every photo captured, and every conversation shared contributed to something larger than any one individual. It was a powerful reminder that meaningful change often happens when people come together with a common goal.

Events like the OFCP Golf Tournament highlight the incredible impact that volunteers, sponsors, donors, and participants can have when they work together. Their support helps create opportunities, resources, and programs that make a difference in the lives of individuals with Cerebral Palsy and their families.

Giving Back Matters

At Motion, we believe that supporting our communities is an important part of helping people live with greater independence and confidence. I’m so proud to be a part of an organization that has a direct impact to improving lives and creating more inclusive communities.
