*Beyond the Windshield: Smarter Seating & Mobility Assessments with Virtual Care

Clinicians are feeling the squeeze—more time in the office, less time with clients, and growing administrative demands. But what if virtual care could give you time back without compromising quality?

This session reframes virtual visits not as a replacement for hands-on care, but as a strategic tool to enhance efficiency, streamline assessments, and improve client outcomes in seating and mobility practice. Drawing on emerging research, Canadian regulatory guidance, and real-world innovations (including virtual technician visits), this talk offers a practical model for integrating virtual care into your workflow.

You’ll leave with actionable strategies to reduce “windshield time,” optimize in-person sessions, and feel more in control of your clinical day—while still delivering high-quality, client-centered care.

By the end of this session, participants will be able to:

  • Apply a hybrid workflow model to improve efficiency and reduce travel and documentation burden.
  • Describe the role of virtual visits within a hybrid seating and mobility assessment model.
  • Explain current Canadian guidance and considerations for virtual care delivery in rehabilitation practice.
  • Identify appropriate components of seating and mobility assessments that can be conducted virtually versus in-person.

Motion is an accredited provider of continuing education and training through the International Accreditors for Continuing Education and Training (IACET). Attendees to the keynote presentation who complete a knowledge check (quiz) and evaluation will receive a recognized Certified Education Unit (CEU).
