Client Ambassador Update: Jessica and Stacey

In honour of National AccessAbility Week, we wanted to highlight some updates from our client ambassadors, Stacey and Jessica. Read more below about what they’ve been up to this year so far!

In November 2024, with just 3 weeks notice, I packed up my life on Vancouver Island and headed back home to Alberta for a job opportunity. After almost 12 years as a Police Dispatcher, I made the decision to stay within the civilian law enforcement world but get out of dispatch. So, with the help of my incredible family, I picked up and left to follow a career dream. Now back in Alberta and living in the same area as my family for the first time in over 10 years, I could not be happier. The house I bought needed a little TLC but with the help of friends and family, it has quickly become home. I am still working hard with lifting and looking forward to this season and the L.A. 2028 Paralympic Quadrennial (the next 4 years leading up to L.A. 2028). In a very happy coincidence, during my first month back in the Calgary area, I ran into an old friend. A multi-paralympic athlete, she is now competing in para-curling. I went out once with her and their team and I was hooked – I think I may have found a new winter sport, something I never thought I would be saying!

What’s New?

I’m excited to say this year has brought some fun updates.

For one, I’m completely booked with work for 2025. Wrapped up some beautiful work for a few disability-led projects. I also have a few speaking engagements coming up with Realize Canada, Vanderbilt University, and Chapman University.

On the personal front, my sister and I continue to manage our PSW [Personal Support Worker] staff. We plan to explore new restaurants and see some theatre shows! This year I’m making it a priority to connect with local friends [my Disabled babes] in person.
