A Message from our CEO: National AccessAbility Week 2026

Celebrating Possibility, Community & Impact during National AccessAbility Week

At Motion, every day is an opportunity to champion accessibility, empower individuals, and create meaningful connections. But during National AccessAbility Week, we pause to reflect on the incredible stories that have defined our work over the past year and to celebrate the resilience, advocacy, and determination of our teams and the communities we serve across Canada.

Highlighting Stories of Possibility

Over the past year, we’ve had the privilege of sharing powerful client stories that remind us why accessibility matters – not just in terms of equipment and support, but in the opportunities it creates for independence, achievement, and joy.

Natalie & Callie: Voices That Lead Change

Natalie and Callie, have shown how lived experience fuels advocacy. Through their voices, we’ve shared insights on navigating systems, celebrating mobility milestones, and building a more inclusive future for everyone. Most importantly their persistence and advocacy ensure others don’t face the same barriers alone.

Stephen & Alyssa: Strength, Sport, and the Power of Possibility

Stephen’s and Alyssa’s stories are a testament to the transformative power of sport and perseverance. By embracing strength and adaptability, they continue to redefine what’s possible – and encourage us all to rethink our own limitations.

Anika, Philip & Maverick: Accessing Equipment with Motion’s Help

During our 5 Days of Caring initiative, we celebrated moments big and small – from helping Anika experience pure joy with a new adaptive bicycle, to getting Philip on the move again with a new mobility scooter, and ensuring Maverick and his family’s long-term safety and independence with the installation of a new vertical platform lift at their home – because accessibility means inclusion, independence, and dignity for everyone.

Advocacy, Innovation & Community Connection in Action

Motion’s commitment to accessibility extends beyond equipment – it’s about creating moments of connection, exploring new solutions and fostering opportunities to make a difference for persons with disabilities. Over the past year, we’ve seen this commitment come alive in inspiring ways:

Giving in Motion: National & Global Outreach

From Tyler’s adventures at the 2026 Canada Powerlifting Nationals to Vickey’s unforgettable experience in Peru with Eleanore’s Project, our Giving in Motion Fund has allowed our employees to give back through volunteerism that extends our impact beyond our local communities.

Championing Disability Employment Awareness

During National Disability Employment Awareness Month, we celebrated inclusive workplaces and shared insights from our employee and client Amanda on how meaningful employment empowers individuals, strengthens communities, and fosters accessibility in all areas of life.

Matia Mobility Partnership

Our collaboration with Matia Mobility to advance standing mobility solutions reflects our ongoing commitment to expanding access to innovative equipment that empowers independence.

Investing in the Future

We proudly sponsored our first-ever post-secondary scholarship for students with disabilities in partnership with the Tamara Gordon Foundation – awarded to our client Tristan – an initiative that ensures opportunity, education, and empowerment continue to grow alongside our clients’ achievements.

Moving Forward Together

National AccessAbility Week is a reminder that accessibility is not a destination – it’s a journey we travel together. It’s the stories of clients like Natlie, Callie, Stephen, Alyssa, Maverick, Anika, Philip and Tristan and our employees Tyler and Vickey that fuel our purpose. It’s the innovations we champion and the communities we engage that shape a more inclusive future.

This National AccessAbility Week, we reaffirm our promise to continue creating a world where everyone can move, participate, and thrive.
